We are delighted to share a significant milestone in our journey to continually improve and maintain the highest standards of our technology framework!
We have completed the migration to a new Cere Blockchain Node repository in Github, previously organized as a direct fork of the Substrate framework repository, now based on the official Substrate Node Template.
Before we delve deeper into the objectives of this migration, it is crucial to understand the underpinning technology behind it – the Substrate framework.
Substrate is an open-source modular framework that enables developers to build blockchain networks tailored to specific use cases. It provides a robust foundation for decentralized applications, allowing them to leverage Polkadot and Kusama networks’ interoperability, scalability, and security.
Substrate’s importance cannot be overstated. As an innovation hub in the blockchain ecosystem, it significantly reduces the time, effort, and complexity involved in creating custom blockchain solutions. It provides building blocks, known as pallets, that developers can compose to build their unique blockchains. This way, teams can focus on building their application logic rather than wrestling with the intricacies of blockchain protocols.
Substrate’s emphasis on flexibility, interoperability, and developer experience makes it a powerful tool for advancing blockchain technology. We are proud to align more closely with Substrate and further embrace their well-tested open collaboration and innovation models for a better, more decentralized future.
This strategic move was conducted with three main objectives in mind:
We believe this change will significantly improve the artifact preparation process, replacing time-consuming and error-prone merge requests with simple dependency updates.
This migration is a testament to our ongoing commitment to enhance Cere’s technology and improve our standards. We ensure that Cere stays ahead in the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape.
As a unified community, we relentlessly push the boundaries of progress, pioneering the frontier of a blockchain network that redefines efficiency and effectiveness.
Substrate is a modular framework that enables developers to create purpose-built blockchains tailored for specific applications. Developed by Parity Technologies, Substrate provides the foundational building blocks and tools necessary to develop efficient and scalable decentralized networks. With its plug-and-play components, developers can choose from a range of consensus algorithms, data storage solutions, and governance mechanisms. Furthermore, Substrate is designed to be interoperable, allowing different blockchains to communicate and share information seamlessly. This flexibility and interoperability make Substrate a preferred choice for many in the blockchain development community, driving innovation and expanding the possibilities of decentralized technology.
